Join the International BioBrillouin Society

Become a member of the International BioBrillouin Society. A few of the benefits of membership are...

  • Recieve and post to the BioBrillouin Mailing List (recieved by all members), as well as Focus Group Mailing lists (focusing on specific topics such as instrument development, studies of specific organisms, processes and pathologies, etc.)

  • Recieve Quarterly Society Newsletters, updating you on some of the latest advances, news and talking points in the field, new pre-prints and publications, upcoming Society Events & happenings, other non-Society meetings & workshops of potential interest (before submission deadlines have passed!), job openings in the field, and more. As a member you also have the possibility to contribute such items to the newsletter.

  • Post your Research profile and contact info on the BioBrillouin Society Website (optional)

  • Post advertisements/calls for collaborators/co-applicants on a section of the BioBrillouin Society Website titled "Searching for collaborators working with X for Y"

  • Advertise your equipment on the BioBrillouin Society Website for interested collaborators

  • Advertise Open Positions/Jobs on the BioBrillouin Society Website

  • Recieve invitations to publish in Special/Feature Issues of journals, and (when relevant) contribute to future Concensus Statements and Roadmaps of the field.

  • Be elligible to recieve any offered Society sponsored Awards, Travel Grants and Reduced-price/Special offers for events.

  • Be active in steering the direction of the Society by voting at Society Meetings, and elligible to occupy elected Board positions

  • Be part of Focus Groups (or form your own) within the society, dedicated to collaborating on and discussing specific topics of interest. Recieve funding for organising events for these groups (subject to available resources)

  • Become more visible among, and be part of, the friendly community of researchers working in the field.

  • Recieve a mug (medium sized coffee or tea cup) with the Society Logo and "I am a BioBrillouinite" printed on it, to be sure to start your day on the right foot and to show the world you are part of something great. In it you will find (in little tubes) alliquotes of "standard samples" used for calibration/performance-comparison of instruments by society members around the world. If nothing else, join for the mug.

The annual membership fees are:

Students (BSc/MSci/PhD): 25 EUR

Early Career (< 5 years after PhD) 50 EUR

Full (PI) Membership 100 EUR

If this is of interest, please fill in the application form in the below link.

We ask for your patience as we are currently still finalizing the Society accounts, and we will get back to you as soon as we get through all the red tape required that allows us to operate as a legal non-for profit entity on a national and international level. Once this is finalized, you will recieve an email from admin@biobrillouin.org with bank transfer payment information and a link to a page for other modes of payment. If you require invoices in some very specific formats (e.g. to get reimbursed from Universities, etc.) please reply to this email with an example of an acceptable invoice format.
